Bible Bowl 2009 Competition

 Praise the Lord Everyone:

It truly is exciting to see nearly all of our council churches registered for the 2009 season of Bible Bowl! This year we will be advancing in all areas of Bible Bowl, Christian Education, under the direction of our IPYPU Christian Education Director, Minister Carolyn T. Dunlap. Not only will our monthly oral competitions be held but also written and spelling games will be posted on our NDCYPU website. All team members, for additional review, experience and points should take these games. They will also serve as a make-up game for those who must work some Saturdays and will not be able to attend the live games.

Since we have eight council churches registered, we will be rotating our game sites, to be able to visit each church at least once during the year. We encourage each church to establish church teams (2 team members make a team) with a coach, who also can be a team participant. Our oral games will be played church team VS church team. If you are an individual participant, you will play on another church team, remembering your individual scores will be maintained throughout the year.  In our first game in October, we will have a roll call to make sure we have your complete name, age and contact information. Please note these are tentative dates and locations and must be confirmed by each church, Pastor.

Scheduled date/locations are subject to change and will be confirmed one month prior.

Important Competition Information (ICI)

The Intro Packet, designed by Min. Dunlap, has general information on the Christian Education Department, Bible Bowl Study Guides, Game Box (if your church would like to purchase their own machine), Christian Education Deadlines and a Quotathon Sign-up sheet (Fundraiser). Please disregard the study guide order form; we have already purchased the study guides. However, please take note of the fundraiser, Quotathon sheet, which would be a great place to start as you learn your quotes and are able to receive an award, a donation to help defray your expenses to the PAW 2009 summer convention in Atlanta. Remember all assigned verses are quotable, there is No quote list this year. Min. Dunlap will forward the "complete the quote" list when available. The Fine Arts and Creative Writings are based on the Study Guide Theme. Please note, this year each age group has a different theme:

Adults         – “Holiness, God is totally holy. He requires our holiness and dedication”

Juniors         - “Holiness”

PAW Kids – “Sacrifice / Offering” Creative Writing & Art

On the last page of each Study Guide are ideas for creative writing and fine arts submissions. These are suggestions only and are not limited to your creative ideas! The last attachment is a sample test to give you an idea of the question categories and overall game format; please note the correct answers are in boldface.

Spread the Word:

Every year we are looking for NDC-BB staff members who are willing and able to work in positions of Quiz Master/Mistress, Time Keeper, Score Keeper, Judge, and Game Writers. In closing again, I would like to congratulate the NDC Bible Bowl Teams who went to the convention in Dallas and participated in the oral, written, spelling, creative writings and fine arts divisions. We Praise the Lord, for your achievements in receiving three First Placements, two Second Placements, three Third Placements and an Honorable Mention, Forth Placement!
